Who we are – and why we're doing this
We are AnnaLena Johansson and Anna Jansson – two committed women from Norrbotten, from Boden, who have decided to be part of the solution.
Because now there actually is a solution – and it works.

A brutal awakening
For AnnaLena, it all started on a beach in Indonesia.
The year was 2017, the place was Kuta Beach in Bali.
It was a shocking awakening to a problem whose scope I hadn’t understood in any way.
Sure, we see plastic here and there even here at home, but compared to many other countries, we have a well-functioning recycling system.
Here in Boden, we’re even talking about getting our own garbage can for plastic waste – we are really at the forefront.
It’s easy to think that the world looks the same everywhere, but it doesn’t.
On the beach, everything looked well-kept and nice, but in the water it was a completely different reality.
It wasn’t until we jumped in that we felt what we first thought was seaweed – the plastic around our legs, how it followed every wave. It wasn’t even possible to pick it up because it was everywhere, and what would you do with it?
It felt both disgusting and hopeless – because there was no real solution to the problem.
Not until we heard about Corsair Group International in 2024, a company that had actually found one.

From skepticism to conviction
At first, we were skeptical.
We didn’t really understand what it was about – oil, pyrolysis, plastic credits… there were many new words and terms.
We didn’t really grasp the whole picture, and it felt far from something we ourselves could contribute to.
But the more we learned, the clearer the picture became.
Once we saw how everything was connected, everything changed.
We realized that the key was to give the plastic a value.
When plastic waste becomes money – just like deposit cans – then there is a real incentive to collect it.
This is not about doing good for show – this is the beginning of a new economy where sustainability and profitability go hand in hand.
With Corsair’s technology, plastic waste is converted into environmentally friendly bio-oil – a way to take what destroys the oceans and make it useful again, without harming the environment.
And then we understood: this can change the world.

A new way to build the future
Since then, we have gone into depth.
We have visited the factory in Finland, met the founder Jussi Veikko Saloranta and several members of the management.
Each meeting has strengthened our conviction that this really works – in practice, not just on paper.
But what really sets Corsair apart from everything else is the business model.
Jussi has chosen to let ordinary people – like us – be involved in building this from the ground up.
We are not oil companies, billionaires or investment funds.
We are just committed people who believe in the idea.
As Jussi himself says:
